My prayer and illustration today is a Test and Belief of Faith.
Father may we learn to call on the name of Jesus in today’s society as did King Hezekiah in Ancient Days, BC. May we have that type of faith as a grain on a mustard seed: A tiny seed that grows big and strong with its branches branching outward with strength. May our tiny faith grow into a strong faith that is deeply rooted in Jesus. Also, may our faith not be as a house built on top of sandy soil where every wind and doctrine sways it, and people follow it to damnation with its false prophets and religions. Let our faith be built on solid ground with a solid foundation in Jesus Christ. Let this biblical illustration tell its story of faith in YHWH, even to the point of praying to a wall, ceiling ground et. al. This I pray from Isaiah 38:1-5, 18-21. In Jesus’ name I pray and illustrate from Your Most Holy Word. Amen.   Rev. Lynwood F. Mundy
In those days was Hezekiah sick unto death. And Isaiah the prophet the son of Amoz came unto him, and said unto him, Thus saith the LORD, Set thine house in order: for thou shalt die, and not live. 2       Then Hezekiah turned his face toward the wall, and prayed unto the LORD      And said, Remember now, O LORD, I beseech thee, how I have walked beforethee in truth and with a perfect heart, and have done that which is good inthy sight. And Hezekiah wept sore. 4       Then came the word of the LORD to Isaiah, saying, 5       Go, and say to Hezekiah, Thus saith theLORD, the God of David thy father, I have heard thy prayer, have seen thy tears: behold, I will add unto thy days fifteen years. … 18        For the grave cannot praise thee, death can not celebrate thee: They that go down into the pit cannot hope for thy truth. 19       The living, the living, he shall praise thee, as I do this day:
The father to the children shall make known thy truth. 20       The LORDwas ready to save me: Therefore we will sing my songs to the stringed instruments All the days of our life in the house of the LORD21       For Isaiah had said, Let them take a lump of figs, and lay it for a plaister [plaster] upon the boil, and he shall recover.
The Holy Bible: King James Version, Electronic Edition of the 1900 Authorized Version. (Bellingham, WA: Logos Research Systems, Inc., 2009). Is 38:1-5, 18–21.
